Rotary Valve

Rotary valves are an essential part of your process equipment for pneumatically conveying or dosing powdered and granulated materials.

Range of valves can be divided into three basic categories:

  • High Duty - Medium Duty - Light Duty

HIGH DUTY

TYPE H-AR
These 'High duty' airlocks are suitable for a large variety of applications with many material and special execution possibilities. Certified explosion and flameproof up to 10 bar.

Application:
Mounted below powder hoppers or as dust explosion barrier
Dosing, Pneumatic conveying.

Features:

  • ATEX 95 certified
  • Flange size: DN 150 – DN 500.
  • Volume: 2,5 – 125 ltr./rev.
  • Body and end covers: cast iron or stainless steel
  • Corrosion- or abrasion resitant coatings optional.
  • Rotor: steel or stainless steel.
  • 8 fixed or 9 adjustable rotor blades.
  • Outboard, dust-tight ball bearings.
  • Max. operating pressure differential 1,5 bar.


Rotary airlock type H-AR

TYPE H-GR
'High duty' blowing seals suitable for a large variety of applications with many material and special execution possibilities. Designed with pipe connections for direct mounting into a pneumatic conveying line

Application:
Pneumatic conveying.

Features:

  • ATEX 95 certified
  • Flange size: DN 150 – DN 350.
  • Volume: 2,5 – 58 ltr./rev.
  • Body and end covers: cast iron or stainless steel
  • Corrosion- or abrasion resitant coatings optional.
  • Rotor: steel or stainless steel.
  • 8 fixed or 9 adjustable rotor blades.
  • Outboard, dust-tight ball bearings.
  • Max. operating pressure differential 1,5 bar.

TYPE H-AX
The H-AX type rotary airlock offers a relative large flanged diameter in relation to the rotor capacity. These valves are manufactured with a square and circular flange. In- and outlet are machined with a double shearing edge. The body has a central vent connection so both sides can be used as an inlet or outlet. H-AX valves find their application mainly in situations where the flange size has a higher priority than valve capacity.

Mounted below powder hoppers for abrasive and/or mildly cohesive products

TYPE HZ
The horizontal valve can be used to discharge and dose virtually all products stored in silos or hoppers and can be readily applied to pneumatic conveying systems with no resistance to flow from air leakage through the valve. The valve finds its application in these situations where highly accurate and repeatable dosing characteristics are required. Even poor flowing products susceptible to bridging and ratholes can be discharged accurately at high rates by fitting specially designed agitators to the vertical rotor shaft. With the optional integrated slide valve, it is possible to dismount the horizontal valve from a filled silo.

Gravimetric and volumetric dosing
Pneumatic conveying

MEDIUM DUTY

TYPE R-AX
The TBMA R-AX-rotary valves have been specially developed for use in combination with separators, dust filters and cyclones, dosing systems etc. These rotary valves are directly driven by a worm geared motor. They offer a perfect solution for the less arduous applications.

Application:
Mounted below powder hoppers for abrasive and/or mildy sticky products.
Dosing, Pneumatic conveying of non abrasive products.

Features:

  • ATEX 95 certified,
  • Flange size: DN 150 – DN 350 (square/circular).
  • Volume: 2,5 – 34 ltr./rev.
  • Body and end covers: cast iron.
  • Corrosion- or abrasion resitant coatings optional,
  • Rotor: steel or stainless steel,
  • 8 fixed or adjustable rotor blades,
  • Max. operating pressure differential 1 bar.


Rotary airlock type R-AX

TYPE M-AX
The TBMA M-AX-rotary valves have been specially developed for use in combination with separators, dust filters and cyclones, dosing systems etc. The M-AX valves are identically to the R-AX valves with the exception that the inlet and outlet flanges are both circular.

Application:
Mounted below powder hoppers for abrasive and/or mildy sticky products.
Dosing, Pneumatic conveying of non abrasive products.

  • Flange size: DN 150 – DN 350 (circular),
  • Volume: 2,5 – 34 ltr./rev.

LIGHT DUTY

TYPE S-AX 250
The TBMA S-AX-rotary valve has been specially developed for use in combination with dust filters and cyclones. These rotary valves feature circular and square inlet flanges and are directly driven by a worm-geared motor.They offer an economic solution for light applications.

Application:
Below dust filters and cyclones

Features:

  • ATEX 95 certified,
  • Flange size: DN 250 (square/circular),
  • Volume: 9,5 ltr./rev.
  • Body and end cover: cast iron,
  • Corrosion- or abrasion resitant coatings optional,
  • Rotor: steel,
  • 8 blade rotor with PUR rotor blades,
  • Max. operating pressure differential 0,5 bar.
